Widespread recognition among institutions of theological education, theological educators, and church leaders state that a crisis exists in the traditional forms of theological education and training clergy. However, is the crisis real or fake news? Join Dr. Kelly Campbell and Kris Veldheer as they share their qualitative research conducted in the fall of 2017. The qualitative research included interviewing various stakeholders (faculty and administration) from mainline Protestant seminaries and schools. The data and findings were used to write an essay in a forthcoming series entitled, Borderlands of Theological Education, by Fortress Press. The editors, Dr. Deirdre Good and Dr. Joshua Davis, describe the series as "monographs exploring the current crisis in theological education and offering proposals for creative innovations in theological formation, teaching, and learning."
